Whindersson Nunes is a Brazilian YouTube star known for his comedy skits and entertaining videos. With over 150 million followers across his social media, Whindersson is a household name in Brazil and is quickly gaining popularity worldwide. However, in recent months, the comedian has made headlines for his interest in the sport of boxing and his aspirations to become a competitor in the Influencer Boxing industry.
Whindersson’s debut in the boxing world came in 2021 when he faced off against Brazilian Pro Boxer and former world champion Acelino “Popo” Freitas. The highly-anticipated fight was watched by over 30 million people and marked the beginning of Whindersson’s journey in the world of Influencer Boxing. Despite being a newcomer, Whindersson put on an impressive performance, showcasing his skills and determination in the ring.

While Whindersson has already made a name for himself in the boxing world, it was his potential fight with American YouTuber Logan Paul that captured the attention of the world. Whindersson publicly challenged Logan to a fight in early 2022, with the American later responding with
“Dear Whindersson, I accept your challenge, keep training” – Logan Paul
Logan Paul debuted in a white-collar bout with KSI, which ended in a draw in August 2018, with the pair turning professional for their rematch in 2019. He then took on boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout in June 2021 that went the distance.
Unfortunately, the fight between Whindersson and Logan Paul never came to fruition. Despite the two YouTubers agreeing to the fight, logistical difficulties and scheduling conflicts prevented the bout from taking place. However, Whindersson remained committed to making a name for himself in the Influencer Boxing industry and continues to train and improve his skills in the ring to this day.
Whindersson’s popularity in Brazil is undeniable, ranked in a Snack Intelligence survey as being the second most influential social media star in the world behind PewDiePie, and he has millions of fans following his every move. His humour and entertaining videos have made him a beloved figure in the country, and his aspirations in the Influencer Boxing world have only added to his already massive following.
Whindersson Nunes is a rising star in the Influencer Boxing world, and his debut fight against Popo Freitas has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with. Despite the disappointment of the fight with Logan Paul not happening, Whindersson remains committed to becoming a big competitor in the Influencer Boxing industry. To do so, Nunes is taking on the Kingpyn High Stakes Tournament, fighting against 7 other YouTube stars such as Aneson Gib, Austin Mcbroom, Jarvis, King Kenny, Tom Zanetti and My Mate Nate. As an introduction to Influencer boxing, this challenge is truly a trial by fire, with every fighter on the card having proven themselves already as a serious competitor.

On the 12th of March 2023, Kingpyn hosted the tournament draw live at the Kingpyn Launch Party. Fighters found out who they were facing live in front of thousands of people. Fans discovered Jay Swingler would no longer be participating in the tournament after watching his apology video, ultimately leaving Whindersson Nunes without an opponent.
Since the Kingpyn Launch Party, numerous YouTubers have commented on being the 8th person to enter the tournament. The likes of KSI, Slim Albaher and Salt Papi have all mentioned fighting in the Tournament.
“Notice how no one has asked me to join kingpyn as the 8th man?” – KSI
Kingpyn has extended offers to all three stars to fill the position of the 8th man, however, the offers to join the tournament have been rejected.
Whindersson was the last to be drawn at the Kingpyn Launch Event and will face an unknown opponent after Jay Swingler dropped out of the tournament. In the coming weeks we will find out who Whindersson will face in the first round of the tournament on April 22nd 2023 at OVO Arena Wembley in London. If he can overcome his Quarter Final opponent, Nunes could face either King Kenny or My Mate Nate in the Semi-Finals.
